Results updated 17 Nov 2025

Thank you to everyone that responded to this survey or shared their views in other ways. Your views have been collected to inform the outcomes for our updated local carers strategy, due to be published in June 2026

A draft will be available on our consultation hub from February until mid March so you can tell us if we have the priorities right and if you note any gaps.

Themes from your responses included:

  • Identifying, recognising and valuing carers voices
  • Meaningfully including you in the support of the person you care for
  • Looking after your own health and well being
  • Taking breaks from caring when you need them and
  • Avoiding or lessening the negative impacts caring can have on other parts of your life.

Overview

Do you look after or support someone that couldn’t cope without you?
You might first consider yourself as a parent, sibling, grandparent, friend or neighbour, but if you provide support to someone who otherwise couldn't cope without you, you may also be an unpaid carer, and we want to know how we can help to support you.

Carers Survey
This survey includes 3 open questions which shouldn't take more than 10mins to complete.

Why your views matter

Our Carers Strategy sets out our commitments to improving carer support over the next 3 years.

As an upaid carer, or as someone who knows what it’s like to care for others, your answers to this survey will tell us what is most important to you, and therefore what our priorities should be to give you the support you need.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences.  If you want to give more information please use the contact details provided.
