Taxi Rank Provision in East Lothian

Overview

We are seeking views on the availability of taxis in East Lothian.  Only licensed Taxis, identifiable by illuminated signs and council plates, can use taxi ranks to be hailed or hired.  Private Hire Cars, even when licensed, must be pre-booked and are forbidden from using taxi ranks or plying for hire on the street. 

You can find maps of current taxi rank locations in the ‘Related’ section (below) of this page.  We would like to know if there is a requirement for additional ranks and/or capacity within the existing ranks.
