Early Learning and Childcare Consultation 2026

Overview

Early Learning and Childcare Survey 2026

Local authorities are required, under statutory duties, to consult with parents and carers of children who are under school age on  Early Learning and Childcare (EL&CC) within their area. This consultation must be undertaken at least once every two years to ensure that EL&CC services continue to reflect the needs of families and local communities.

This survey forms part of that statutory consultation process. Its purpose is to gather the views, experiences, and priorities of parents and carers regarding the delivery of Early Learning and Childcare. Your feedback will help inform future planning and decision-making, and will support the ongoing development of high-quality, accessible, and flexible EL&CC provision that meets the needs of children and families across our communities.

Who Should Take Part

  • East Lothian parents and carers of children aged 0-5 years old.

This public consultation will be open for a period of five weeks, from Monday 2 February to Monday 9 March 2026.

The survey should take approximately five minutes to complete. All responses are valued, and we thank you for taking the time to share your views.
