Welfare Foods - a consultation on meeting the needs of children

Closed 31 May 2018

Opened 1 May 2018

Overview

The powers over Welfare Foods have been devolved to Scotland through provisions in the Scotland Act 2016. As part of the Scottish Government’s drive to give children the best start in life, improve health outcomes and tackle inequality, they are seeking views on how best to take forward these powers to better meet the needs of children and families in Scotland. Welfare Foods includes the current UK Healthy Start Vouchers and Nursery Milk Scheme.

Why We Are Consulting

The responses submitted to this consultation will be collated and used to inform the East Lothian Council Education Department’s formal response to the national Consultation exercise.

In addition to submitting your views to East Lothian Council, please remember if you wish to reply directly to the Scottish Government you will need to do so separately through their consultation hub.
