East Lothian Housing Land Requirement for LDP2

Overview

As part of the Evidence Report, all Councils must set out their view on what the Housing Land Requirement (HLR) should be over the lifetime of the Local Development Plan (LDP) from the expected date of adoption of the LDP (which in our case is estimated to be 2026). This is the level of land that it is proposed to allocate, through existing or new sites to meet the housing needs of the area. This HLR should be based on the National Planning Framework (NPF4) and other relevant local information.

Following on from the summer engagement, we are now consulting on the Council’s preferred approach to the future levels of housing in LDP2 (the Housing Land Requirement). We already have a great deal of information on this issue. This is a short consultation to gather additional thoughts on the housing issue before the Evidence report is sent to the Gatecheck process.
