Wheelchair Accessible Housing in East Lothian
Overview
In 2019, the Scottish Government brought in a requirement for all local authorities to set a realistic target within its Local Housing Strategy for the delivery of wheelchair accessible housing across all housing, reporting annually on progress. The Scottish Government have defined Wheelchair Accessible Housing as homes suitable for wheelchair users to live in, making the distinction between homes which have the ability to be adapted or homes which wheelchairs users can visit.
As part of the work to identify a suitable target in East Lothian, we have developed a survey which aims to establish the current housing situations of those who live in East Lothian and use a wheelchair some or all of the time.
This survey is open to all individuals in East Lothian, regardless of whether you live in the private rented sector, own your home, or are in a Housing Association or East Lothian Council property and we encourage you all to respond.
