Call for Evidence - Coastal Change Adaptation Plan (CCAP)
Overview
East Lothian Council are developing a Coastal Change Adaptation Plan (CCAP) in 2025 and 2026.
Coastal erosion and natural processes shape our coastlines. Climate change and sea level rise will increase the impact of these changes but by preparing proactively, we can adapt and build resilience into our future plans. East Lothian Council are developing the CCAP to identify risks associated with coastal change and create a long-term plan for adapting and managing our coastline.
Why your views matter
East Lothian Council are seeking to consult local communities to gather information to inform the new CCAP. Information from local communities and residents is vital in fully understanding our coastline and we want to hear about your knowledge of and experience of living by the coast and the impacts of coastal erosion, coastal flooding, sea level rise and wave overtopping in your community.
The CCAP will provide actions which will improve resilience and adaptability along the coast and within coastal communities, and give the local authority a clear process for managing coastal assets and decision making.
If you have contributed via the StoryMap previously for the Climate Ready South East Scotland Coastal project, there is no need to re-submit information.
