Overview

An East Lothian Integration Scheme Consultation Draft has been developed as part of the work towards integrating health and social care in East Lothian (for background to please see the Presentation on Health & Social Care Integration under 'Related Documents' below).

Legislation requires that the parties who will be involved in joint health and social care arrangements jointly prepare an Integration Scheme - in our case East Lothian Council and NHS Lothian.

The East Lothian Integration Scheme Consultation Draft can be viewed under 'Related Documents' below. It covers a number of key elements related to the delegation of functions and resources including:

  • The Integration Model
  • Local Governance Arrangements
  • Delegation of Functions
  • Local Operational Delivery Arrangements
  • Clinical and Care Governance
  • Appointment of a Chief Officer
  • Workforce
  • Finance
  • Participation and Engagement
  • Information Sharing and Data Handling
  • Complaints
  • Claims Handling, Liability and Indemity
  • Risk Management
  • Dispute Resolution

Once the Integration Scheme has been finalised it will be submitted to Scottish Ministers for approval and, once approved, will formally establish the East Lothian Integration Joint Board.
