Haddington Town Centre Design Project
Overview
An invitation to get involved - We want to make our town even better!
The Haddington Town Centre Design Project Steering Group* invites you to help shape new design proposals for our town centre, ones that will benefit the whole town.
Over the coming months (August - October) detailed public realm design proposals for Haddington Town Centre are being developed, focusing on improving the design and quality of our public spaces. We want to ensure that improvements will encourage more people to come to and use the Town Centre more often, for a greater variety of activities.
The project seeks to build on the aspirations set out by the community in the Vision for Haddington Town Centre Report 2012.
"It is not difficult to imagine a bustling space where cafes and shops spread out onto widened pavements, with attractive places for people to meet, linger and enjoy themselves. Getting about on foot should be much easier - car access and parking, whilst important, should be less dominant"
* The Haddington Town Centre Design Project Steering Group involves: East Lothian Council, Sustrans, the Haddington & Lammermuir Area Partnership, Haddington Community Development Trust, Haddington and District Business Association, Haddington and District Community Council and the Haddington and District Amenity Society who are all working together to develop improvements to Haddington Town Centre.
