Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary in Scotland (HMICS) is undertaking a review of police call handling across Scotland. This follows the tragic incident involving the deaths of John Yuill and Lamara Bell. The review will provide an independent assessment of how police Contact, Command and Control facilities are working. By 'Contact, Command and Control facilities', HMICS means the call centres where 101 and 999 calls are answered.

To allow members of the public, police officers, police staff, elected representatives and other interested parties to inform our review, HMICS has developed an online questionnaire about police call handling in Scotland and would welcome your views on the police 101 or 999 service. HMICS would like to hear about your experience of what is working well and what could be improved. Responses received will be used to identify themes and specific areas that may be examined in more detail during the review.

Because comments will be anonymous, no individual feedback can be provided to respondents. Please note that HMICS is unable to investigate any specific complaints you may have about call handling in Scotland and cannot comment individually on any complaint you may already have made.
