Memorial Park, Gullane - Sport and Play Consultation
Overview
EAST LOTHIAN’S OBJECTIVES
East Lothian Council has successfully obtained financing through the Local Development Plan 2018, under the Section 75 Agreements
Financial support is earmarked for the enhancement of Sport and Play provision at Memorial Park, Gullane. The purpose of the Section 75 funding is to furnish our expanding community with enhanced recreational spaces that cater to their diverse needs.
The goal for this project is to create an environment within Gullane that is not only safe, enjoyable and accessible, but that has been developed via community collaboration and that will ensure we optimise the funds allocated.
Why your views matter
The feedback we receive via this consultation will help us to ensure that the enhanced Memorial Park will represent local views and meet local needs as best as possible.
Outlined within the PDF Documents attached at the bottom of this page are the sport and play equipment guidelines to provide you with informed decision making for the purpose of this consultation. This provides better understanding what enhancements could be made subject to budget and space considerations for Memorial Park.
Play Area - The enhanced play area will feature seating / benches and bins as well as inclusive and accessible rubber safety surfacing on the ground. We will also take account of the feedback we have already received, including through our recent ‘East Lothian Play Sufficiency Assessment’ consultation. We aim to provide as wide a range of new play experiences as possible, for a range of ages and abilities.
Sports Provision - The purpose of a sport and recreation consultation is to assess community needs and enhance sport and recreation services. This consultation ensures sport and recreation facilities meet current and future community needs, are safe and accessible, and encourage widespread participation.
Thank you for taking part in this consultation, we value your contribution and look forward to delivering an improved and community steered Memorial Park.
