Replacement East Linton Primary School

Closed 28 Feb 2022

Opened 1 Feb 2022

Overview

East Linton Primary School sits in the heart of village. The existing building is over 140 years old and has been extended several times over the years. Condition surveys show that it is requires significant upgrade and further expansion to provide a high-quality space for learning and accommodate the school population.

At a Council meeting on 14 December a decision was made to progress proposals for a new replacement school on the existing site and neighbouring land. This process is at an early stage; further feasibility and technical works are needed.

We have shared our proposals and all relevant information in a specially created website: www.eastlothian.gov.uk/east-linton-ps

Please refer to this information before you respond to the questions in the consultation.

Why your views matter

We're keen to hear the views of the East Linton community on our early proposals and to find out:

  • their priorities to help us create a new primary school that is fit for modern learning
  • their views on potential layouts that have been designed
  • their perspectives on the open green space and built facilities at War Memorial Park
  • options for community facilities and wider benefits.

This public consultation is our first step however further consultation and engagement as we move forward.
