Your Views on Scottish Public Libraries: Informing a National Strategy (Consultation by the National Strategy for Scottish Public Libraries Working Group)
Overview
Public libraries are changing. The opportunities offered by digital technology and the challenges of reduced local budgets make ‘business as usual’ increasingly unsustainable. The National Strategy for Scottish Public Libraries Working Group has been tasked with the development of a national strategy for Scotland’s public libraries. To get this right, we need your views.
Public libraries are one of the most effective ways to improve the wellbeing of communities. A national strategy is an opportunity to ensure public libraries continue to deliver for future generations. The case for a national strategy has been made by the Scottish Library and Information Council (‘The Case for a National Strategy for Public Libraries’) and the Carnegie UK Trust (‘A New Chapter’).
In order to draft a national strategy, the National Strategy for Scottish Public Libraries Working Group needs to hear from a wide range of stakeholders.
