Consultation on the draft School Session Dates for 2027/2028 and 2028/2029

Overview

East Lothian Council is seeking your views on draft school session dates for academic year 2027/2028 and 2028/2029.  Our draft dates have been developed to align with established school term patterns in East Lothian and we have collaborated with our neighbouring authorities to largely agree common dates around longer school holiday periods, although not all are completely aligned by a day or two (start or finish) as it was not operationally possible due to variances in local public holidays and the statutory requirement for 190 school openings, 5 in service days and fixed public holidays.
