Local Housing Strategy Consultation Events

Closes 26 Sep 2017

Opened 8 Sep 2017

Overview

Scottish Housing Day aims to celebrate the contribution housing makes to improving wellbeing. It will also raise awareness of the latest developments in housing and the options open to people when deciding where to live and to make informed housing decisions.

To coincide with Scottish Housing Day, East Lothian Council is running a series of information and consultation drop-in sessions for stakeholders and members of the public as well as running a number of events recognising the efforts of staff and tenants.

Come along to one of our events

Local Housing Strategy Consultation Event:

Thursday 21 September from 10am to 4pm in the Garleton Room, Penston House, Macmerry OR

Monday 25 September from 10am - 4pm in the Saltire Rooms, John Muir House, Haddington

The Council is developing its new five- year Local Housing Strategy, which will set out the key housing issues and challenges in East Lothian across all tenures and types of housing and will show how we plan to tackle the issues. Two drop-in days will be open to all residents and stakeholders in East Lothian to agree actions for the Housing Strategy and input to the housing vision for key areas across the county.  Please come along and have your say in the development of this important strategy.   Refreshments will be available.

Drop-in Event for Council Tenants, Applicants and Others Interested in the Council's Housing Service:

This drop-in event is open to all East Lothian Council tenants from across the county, housing applicants and those interested in finding out about the Council’s Housing Service.  There will be information on the Community Housing Service, housing options advice, tenancy support, our housing adaptations service, energy advice to help reduce fuel poverty, tenant participation, help with rent arrears, Universal Credit and other welfare benefits as well as other housing-related matters.  There will also be opportunities to speak to an officer in confidence about any housing or housing-related issue that is affecting you.  Refreshments will be available.
