East Lothian Local Development Plan - Action Programme

Overview

The Council has published its proposed East Lothian Local Development Plan (LDP). This is the Council’s settled view as to what the final adopted content of the Local Development Plan for the area should be. The proposed plan comprises a development strategy for the future development of East Lothian to 2024 and beyond, a detailed policy framework for guiding development and proposals maps. It sets out where new development should and should not occur, including new housing, education, economic and retail development, new transport links, and other infrastructure. The plan is currently out for representation (see consultation links below).  Further information can be found on the Proposed Local Development Plan webpage.

This consultation is on the proposed Action Programme for the proposed Local Development Plan, one of a range of supporting documents. The Action Programme sets out how the planning authority foresees the implementation of the Proposed Local Development Plan.  This consultation seeks your views.

Why your views matter

We are seeking your views on the proposed Action Programme. The Planning Service will then consider your comments prior to the Council's adoption of the Action Programme.

What happens next

The Action Programme is a live document focussed on delivering development. The first Action Programme must be submitted to Scottish Ministers along with the Proposed Local Development Plan prior to adoption. Your views will be considered and any changes made as a result will be included in the Action Programme.  It will be updated to include further information as it comes forward and to reflect views expressed where appropriate.
