East Lothian Proposed Local Development Plan - Draft Environmental Report
Overview
Having had regard to the submissions received on the Main Issues Report (consulted on from 17 November 2014 to 8 February 2015), the planning authority has prepared and published a proposed Local Development Plan under Section 18 of the Planning etc (Scotland) Act 2006.
The Council has written a Draft Environmental Report for the Proposed Local Development Plan (LDP) under the Environmental Assessment (Scotland) Act 2005. The process taken to write this report is called Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA).
The Draft Environmental Report identifies and addresses the potential environmental effects the Proposed Local Development Plan is likely to have on the environment, and includes appendices with detailed assessment of proposed development sites. The overall aim of the process is to protect the environment. Throughout this SEA process the Council has been taking the views of others into account and will continue to do so until the plan is adopted.
The Draft Environmental Report is published for consultation from 19 September 2016 to 7 November 2016.
The Proposed Plan is also supported by an Action Programme published in draft form for comments. The Proposed Plan is also accompanied by other planning guidance on specific planning matters, which are also published in draft form. These documents can be found in the consultation section below and additonal information can be found on Councils website.
Should you have any issues or need clarification on the process and/or how to submit a representation to the proposed Local Development Plan or a consultation response on the (list consultation docs), please contact the Policy and Projects team on 01620 827216 before making a submission.
