Overview

In accordance with the terms of the Local Authorities' Traffic Orders (Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 1999 (as amended in 2021), I write to give notice that East Lothian Council has made Experimental Traffic Regulation Order [EAST LOTHIAN COUNCIL (HIGH STREET (EAST), NORTH BERWICK) (RESTRICTED PARKING ZONE) EXPERIMENTAL ORDER 2025].

The effect of the Experimental Traffic Regulation Order (ETRO) will restrict parking within a section of North Berwick High Street except within three marked Loading Only bays.

The Order was made on 17 March 2025 and will come into force on 1 April 2025.

The Order will be in operation until 1 October 2026 and may be modified by East Lothian Council in response to feedback for a period of 12 months after 1 October 2025

The Council will consider in due course whether the Experimental Order should continue in force indefinitely, and any person may object to the Experimental Order being made permanent within a period of six months from 1 April 2025 or the day of any variation or modification under section 10(2) of the 1999 Regulations.
