We asked

Members of the public, partner organisations and other stakeholders were asked for their views on a draft Local Transport Strategy.

You said

Over 100 people attended workshops in locations across East Lothian. A further 500 responses were received online.

We did

A number of amendments were made to the Strategy based on feedback received via the consultation process - these can be viewed in the report submitted to East Lothian Council on 30th October 2018.

A final version of the Local Transport Strategy was adopted at a meeting of East Lothian Council on the 30th October 2018.

Overview

A draft Local Transport Strategy has been produced by East Lothian Council to cover the period from 2018 to 2024. The draft Strategy reflects the key role of transport and outlines plans for ongoing development taking into account the wider changes in East Lothian as detailed in the Local Development Plan

As well as the main draft Local Transport Strategy, there are a number of associated Plans which will deliver specific aspects of the overall Strategy - these are: 

  • The Road Asset Management Plan 
  • The Road Safety Plan 
  • The Active Travel Improvement Plan 
  • The Parking Management Strategy

You can view the draft Local Transport Strategy, along with the associated Plans under 'Related' below. We have also developed a set of 'Frequently Asked Questions' in relation to each of the Plans which you can also view below.

We want to gather views on the draft Local Transport Strategy (and associated Plans). You can share your views by completing the the online survey below.

We are also holding a series of workshops where you can find out more about the Local Transport Strategy and share your views on what is proposed. These are taking place on the following dates: 

  • Tranent - Ross High Assembly Hall - 17th April, 7pm - 9pm
  • Haddington - Town House Main Room - 18th April, 7pm - 9pm  
  • North Berwick - Hope Rooms - 19th April, 7pm - 9pm
  • Dunbar - British Legion - 24th April, 7pm - 9pm  
  • Prestonpans - Town Hall - 25th April, 7pm - 9pm  
  • Musselburgh - Esk Rooms, Brunton Hall - 26th April, 7pm - 9pm
