Closes 31 Dec 2018

Opened 1 Nov 2018

All social landlords must comply with the Scottish Government’s legislation, the Housing (Scotland) Act 2014, when allocating their housing stock and managing their housing lists.

This has meant that since the 2014 Act was introduced, the Council have been working alongside East Lothian Tenants & Residents Panel and other stakeholders to review our current Housing Allocations Policy.  Proposals include changes to overcrowding points, taking home ownership into consideration, the way we manage applications from those who are at risk of becoming homeless and from those who experience insecurity of tenure amongst others changes.

You can view the East Lothian Council Allocations Policy Consultation Draft under 'Related' below.
