Port Seton Play Area-Consultation

Overview

What new play facilities would you like to see in King George V Play Parks?

East Lothian Council has successfully obtained funding for the enhancement of Play provision at the King George V Play Parks off Park View East road beside the Port Seton Community Centre.

We aim to ensure that the enhanced King George V Play Parks meets local needs, by involving people, particularly children and young people, in its development. This public engagement gives opportunities for a range of play equipment options to be considered and prioritised, which we will aim to deliver within the budget available.

Our primary aim is to provide a challenging, exciting, and inclusive play space for toddlers to teens (age range 0 – 15), with a range of abilities, to play and hang out. We also want to hear what else the community would like to see happen in some of the other park areas around Port Seaton.

Why your views matter

The Enhanced Play Area 1 will feature areas with rubber safety surfacing on the ground, to enhance inclusive and accessible play. We will also take account of the feedback we have already received, including through our recent ‘East Lothian Play Sufficiency Assessment’ public engagement.

The feedback we receive via this public engagement will help us to ensure that the enhanced Play and Recreational provision in Port Seton, will represent local views and meet local needs. The Maps below show the 3 additional areas that we are gathering views on and that could be developed in the future, if additional funding is secured.

Thank you for taking part in this public engagement, we value your contribution and look forward to delivering an enhanced Play Area in Port Seton shaped by community feedback.

We look forward to hearing your views!
