Rent Level Consultation 2015-16

Overview

East Lothian Council wants to hear Council tenants' views on the Council's proposals for rent increases for 2015/16. For the past few years, the annual rent increase has been held at 4.3%. The Council would like to increase investment in housing stock and to further improve services. To achieve this, the Council is asking tenants whether they would consider a rent increase of between 5 and 6%. An increase of this nature would allow the Council to invest further in its home improvement programme, for example, kitchen and bathroom modernisation. We would also like to be able to make homes more energy efficient, which would make them cheaper for tenants to heat.

Council tenants will receive a rent survey via the post or can opt to complete an online survey - you can view a copy of the letter sent to tenants and the survey at 'Related Documents' below.
