Review of Parliamentary Polling Districts and Polling Places
In accordance with legislation, East Lothian Council are undertaking a statutory review of parliamentary polling districts and places.
The review must be completed within a 16-month period from 1 October 2023 to 31 January 2025.
Why your views matter
This consultation will run from 4 December 2023 until 29 January 2024, providing members of the public, elected members, MP, MSPs, political parties, community groups, disability groups an opportunity to comment on the proposals. Any persons or bodies making representations should, if possible, give alternative places that may be used as polling places.
The proposals, list of current polling places and map can be viewed below.
Paper copies can be viewed at John Muir House, Haddington and Brunton Hall, Musselburgh.
The following criteria has been used to assess polling places as part of this review:
- Availability
- Accessibility
- Safety, for both staff and voters
- Current electorate
- Projected electorate
- Number of postal voters
Any representations should, if possible, give alternative places that may be used as a polling place.
